This is my picture of the day from a walk along the beach at Lee on Solent. These stones had been wedged between the wooden railway sleepers that held a groyne in place. I have no idea whether they were put there or if they just became lodged there with the ceaseless tides coming in and out. I was also fascinated by the strange markings on the wood which reminded me of smiley faces, particularly the one on the right which has eyes!

What an interesting photo - I like a photo that intrigues and has me looking closely. I love the green marks and the orangey coloured stones.
