Preparing to Exhibit

This morning I finished labelling my pictures for "Our World Through the Lens", an exhibition being held at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in Romsey from 29th January to 27th February.  The theme is the natural world - wildlife, flora and fauna, land and seascapes.  Each photographer can hang 4 framed pictures and have 6 mounted pictures in the racks, plus 30 cards.

These are my pictures ready to be delivered next week:

The poppy picture is four different prints within the mount and came about as I produced a greetings card for last year's exhibition with this arrangement.  At the Making Merry Open Studio Event, in which I participated last November, a lady wondered whether I could do a big version of the card.  I am hoping she will come to the Preview Evening and like it ... and buy it!  The picture on the left was taken in New Zealand on the way to Mt Cook and the one on the left is hoar frost on the water meadows in Winchester.  The one on the bench is a waterfall near the mill where we stayed last October in West Yorkshire.

The top row of mounted prints are taken in the Hampshire countryside apart from the autumn scene which is of Bents Mill, Hewenden, North Yorkshire, where we stayed.  The waterfall is a smaller version of the framed print and the one of trees was taken in the snow just before Christmas in Winchester.

At the moment, I have a website being put together and when it is up and running, I will put the pictures on it as a slide show.

  2. The poppies look great in the one frame like that. So vibrant.
